Common Streamer Setups

No matter what you choose to stream, there's a simple path to reaching listeners with studio-quality audio in minutes.

Livestream your voice

Have something to say? Say it on Blast Radio. Hosting a talk radio show is as pressing one button.

Blast Mic

With Blast Mic, you can livestream your voice by simply pressing the red button on the device and speaking into the onboard stereo microphone.

More advanced? Use the two audio inputs to add external microphones to your setup.

Blast Box

With Blast Box, you can livestream any audio source by connecting it through an RCA cable. To livestream your voice, either:

  • Connect a mic to Blast Box directly through the RCA input
  • Connect your mic to a simple audio mixer then connect that to Blast Box through the RCA intput

DAW Plugin (included with Broadcast Software order)

The Blast Radio DAW Plugin will livestream whatever audio is coming through the master channel in your DAW.

To do a talk radio show, add a microphone channel using a USB mic or audio interface.

Make sure the meter levels in the plugin show activity then click the 'Start Live Broadcast' button to broadcast.

Desktop App (included with Broadcast Software order)

The Blast Radio Desktop app will livestream most any audio source on your computer.

Connect a USB microphone to your computer and it will show up in the 'input' list on Blast Radio Desktop app.

Press the 'Start live broadcast' button and start talking.

Livestream pre-recorded audio

Livestreaming most any audio source is simple with Blast products. Share what you're listening to with a live audience.

Blast Mic

In addition to the onboard stereo microphone, Blast Mic has a line-level input, which can be used for livestreaming pre-recorded audio from an external source like a computer, tablet, or smart phone.

Press and hold the button on the right side of the device to mute the microphone and only stream the line-in audio source.

Blast Box

With Blast Box, you can livestream any audio source by connecting it through an RCA cable. To livestream recorded music, either:

  • Connect your computer, record player, phone, cassette player etc. to Blast Box directly through the RCA input
  • Connect your audio source to a simple audio mixer then connect that to Blast Box through the RCA intput

DAW Plugin (included with Broadcast Software order)

The Blast DAW Plugin will livestream whatever audio is coming through the master channel in your DAW.

To stream through your DAW, add the audio files into a track channel in the order you want them to play.  

Make sure the meter levels in the plugin show activity then click the 'Start Live Broadcast' button to livestream.

Desktop App (included with Broadcast Software order)

The Blast Desktop app will livestream most any audio source on your computer.

There are multiple paths to routing audio on a computer -- including using a virtual audio driver such as Blackhole (Mac) or Asio (Windows).

The most simple way to livestream pre-recorded audio is to use third-party software like Audio Hijack or Loopback (detail below).

With Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack product and The Blast DAW Plugin, you can route and broadcast any audio source on your computer to Blast Radio.

Livestream an instrument

Whether you're practicing, doing a live performance, or debuting new material, Blast Radio is the perfect platform to livestream your music and reach listeners live.

Blast Mic

With Blast Mic, livestreaming yourself playing an instrument is as easy pressing a button.

Set Blast Mic up at a relative distance to your sound, press the red button, and jam out for listeners around the world.

Blast Box

With Blast Box, you can livestream any audio source by connecting it through an RCA cable. To livestream your instrument, either:

  • Use a microphone (connected directly to Blast Box if it's self-powered, or through an audio mixer connected to Blast Box if now) to capture the sound
  • Connect your instrument(s) to an audio mixer then connect that Blast Box through the RCA input

DAW Plugin (included with Broadcast Software order)

The Blast DAW Plugin will livestream whatever audio is coming through the master channel in your DAW.

To livestream an instrument, add a new channel to your DAW and connect the instrument through an audio interface.

Make sure the meter levels in the plugin show activity then click the 'Start Live Broadcast' button to start a stream.

Desktop App (included with Broadcast Software order)

The Blast Desktop app will livestream most any audio source on your computer.

  • Connect your instrument to your computer using an audio interface. Run any required setup for the interface then it will show up as a source in the 'input' menu of the Desktop App.
  • If you have a midi instrument, connect it to your computer and run any required setup. It will then show up as a source in the 'input' menu of the Desktop App.

Livestream from your DAW (ProTools, Ableton, Logic Pro etc.)

Works in progress, new beats, demo archives... stream directly from the master channel of most any audio software.

Livestream from audio hardware

With simple audio inputs, Blast products make it simple to share analog audio through a digital platform.

Blast Mic

In addition to the onboard stereo microphone, Blast Mic has a line-level input, which can be used for connecting most any audio source.

With Blast Box, you can livestream any audio source by connecting it through an RCA cable.

To livestream from your DJ controller or turntables, connect them to Blast Box through the 'rec out' or 'master out' port with an RCA cable.

The Blast Desktop app will livestream most any audio source on your computer.

To livestream from your DJ controller, connect it to your computer through a direct connection or an audio interface then select it as the source in the 'input' menu of the Desktop App.

Livestream from a soundboard

Concerts, events, poetry readings, open mics, speeches... livestream any audio from a physical venue to listeners around the world.

Blast Box

With Blast Box, you can livestream any audio source by connecting it through an RCA cable.

To livestream from a venue, have the sound engineer connect an 'audio out' port to Blast Box with an RCA cable.

Desktop App (included with Broadcast Software order)

While unlikely, if the venue you're at is routing audio through a computer, they can download the Blast Desktop App and livestream by choosing the input source of the room's audio.

Blast Mic

Blast Mic is a portable, wireless microphone for livestreaming audio with one button. Simply pair Blast Mic to your account, connect to Wi-Fi, and press one button to stream audio on Blast Radio.

Blast Box

Blast Box is a portable hardware device that lets you livestream any audio source with the press of one button. Connect Blast Box to your audio source with an RCA cable, connect to Wi-Fi, then press one button to stream live on Blast Radio.

Broadcast Software

Blast Broadcast Software lets you livestream most any audio source from your computer on Blast Radio. Your order comes with both a lightweight Desktop Broadcasting App and a plugin that can be added to most any DAW.
